Zach is about to be 9 years old

OK one and all, as a precursor to the great Alaska adventure, a trial run from Gruyeres yet again.

Last night a terrific concert at the Royal Memorial Chapel in Sandhurst, a tad late for folk who had the alarm set for three fifteen in the morning. They put moi, in charge of the wine 🤪😜 Had they not read the autobiography?

A very silly o’clock flight from Heathrow to Geneva.

I couldn’t “check in” at home and gosh I couldn’t check in at the airport. The process took forever to discover, “Summon help.” Joined the queue with just one operative sorting lots of these problems, for lots of people. Why did they ever take away those lovely check in ladies? Discuss.

Hire car check in and collection with Avis, as always, brilliant. Can never sing this companies praise highly enough.

Upgraded to a BMW and off to the Co-op to shop for party food various. £154 later, with not a lot to show for it away to lunch and then onwards to Laura’s, and Mary starts baking ‘the cake.’

Chicken in the basket and the birthday boy himself. Lots more proper photographs tomorrow, but for now, away to the hotel and dinner before a very early night!

This was last time in February, not quite this cold this time, but forecast is rain.

Till tomorrow; with Mary hoping Watford won and me wondering how many Slimming World Syns I am clocking up.

Thank you for reading, comments always welcome M & M ✈️🍺🍟

Malcolm and Mary

Malcolm worked for LWT. Mary worked for TRL. They live near Camberley in Surrey and did achieve their life long ambition to visit New Zealand. They have two daughters Laura and Hannah and two grandchildren Zach & Safi. Having done the big trip they then went to Canada, which was amazing. Scroll down it’s all here. They have visited Venice that they both so fell in love with in 2009 again. And recently returned to Lefkada for one week in glorious sunshine. Where next? Well, Canada is calling again in 2019; this time including Alaska. So stay tuned if you enjoy the ups and downs of travelling.
