Good news and bad news

So, dear reader, it turns out to be true; no wi-fi on the Wilderness Discoverer.

Ah well, just like the Great Bear Lodge we shall be incommunicado with civilisation but this time for 7 days approx, so absolutely no news on Brexit. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Tranquility Towers, or what?

We will be able to tell you a bit about the flight to Seattle from Heathrow on June 5th, and Seattle itself and the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle. Then the flight to Ketchikan two days later and perhaps a little about the Landing Hotel in Ketchikan; sounds like accomodation half way up the stairs, doesn’t it? But that may well be our last wi-fi link until Saturday 15th of June at the Four Points by Sheraton Juneau. So don’t panic! Quite how I download seven days of Orca, eagles, otters and porpoise sightings when we get to Juneau, I have no idea.

This is a rather stylised picture of Gruyeres, which will be our next very short blog at the end of May for Zach’s birthday. We shall be out there on the 18th, back on the 20th and then downhill all the way towards Alaska!

Thanks for reading,

Malcolm and Mary

Malcolm worked for LWT. Mary worked for TRL. They live near Camberley in Surrey and did achieve their life long ambition to visit New Zealand. They have two daughters Laura and Hannah and two grandchildren Zach & Safi. Having done the big trip they then went to Canada, which was amazing. Scroll down it’s all here. They have visited Venice that they both so fell in love with in 2009 again. And recently returned to Lefkada for one week in glorious sunshine. Where next? Well, Canada is calling again in 2019; this time including Alaska. So stay tuned if you enjoy the ups and downs of travelling.

  1. Ooh, one of my favourite cities! Your hotel is barely 15 mins walk from Pikes Place Market. If you have time defo worth walking up there and dodging the thrown fish!
