Safi is 5!

So, where are we again so soon? You guessed, Switzerland 🇨🇭. And the cold snap in the U.K. just before we left, really did acclimatise us.

There is one particular wooden hut just up the road from the farm – it’s on the right above, and we have watched it over the years slowly get more and more derelict. One jolly good storm and it must finally collapse, mustn’t it!

The flight was fine except that odd noise you normally get on landing, which sounds like they are pumping the tyres back up, this time we had before take off and it went on and on and on and on and ON! The hire car, picture tomorrow, is excellent and fitted the bill perfectly for three adults and cases and today for four adults and one lovely young birthday girl.

We are staying once more at the Hotel de Gruyeres and they welcomed us back to room number 24, fast becoming our room. And the deer 🦌 are still bravely down in the field in the snow. Hannah is staying with Laura, Safi and Zach (when he returns from a skiing expedition with school!)

End of day two and an excellent lunch in Romont and Safi viewing with Hannah, a film that Laura had worked on “Fantastic beasts and other animals” (?)

Off into Gruyeres for dinner but the last two days have been about Safi and us all scratching our communal heads, desperately trying to work out, where those five years have gone.

As always thanks for reading; more tomorrow from the very cold but very pretty mountains of Switzerland. 🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭

Take care Malcolm & Mary.

Malcolm and Mary

Malcolm worked for LWT. Mary worked for TRL. They live near Camberley in Surrey and did achieve their life long ambition to visit New Zealand. They have two daughters Laura and Hannah and two grandchildren Zach & Safi. Having done the big trip they then went to Canada, which was amazing. Scroll down it’s all here. They have visited Venice that they both so fell in love with in 2009 again. And recently returned to Lefkada for one week in glorious sunshine. Where next? Well, Canada is calling again in 2019; this time including Alaska. So stay tuned if you enjoy the ups and downs of travelling.

  1. Ha! Thank you Mike. I guess only one hour time difference here but if I post at night, you will see it in the morning. Now I know someone is reading; I’ll try harder, although it is just a family occasion. But Treen’s on Tour does have a rather wonderful ring to it. 🤣😆🤣😆🦌🦌🦌✈️✈️✈️✈️

  2. Ah normal service resumed. Into the office and an email from “The Treens on Tour”. What a great way to start the day, so much better than dealing with work issues……….
