Wednesday; They let us on the train again. πŸš‚πŸš‚πŸš‚πŸš‚

The hotel last night, I forgot to mention, was a bit Tenerife like! I once did a trip there, complete freebie, with some other location managers and some hotels were what I always imagined Las Vegas to be like. Kanloops had casinos apparently, so maybe there was a similarity. But the best bit was getting off the train onto a coach, going to our room and our luggage was already there transported magically by elves!

The brick wall had two waterfalls coming out of it, sadly switched off this morning when I took the picture. So, we left our suitcases in the room and got back on the coach, knowing the suitcases would be on the platform upon arrival in Jasper.

Let the journey commence. The same team were waiting to greet us and breakfast was served almost as soon as we were under way. And what another gob smacking, eye watering under way it was.

Hope, Nancy, Ciara and Kayleigh, our car staff, looked after us royally. We were even offered a drink at 10-00 a.m. just a tad too early even for me! They pointed out sights and commented on places and the train even slowed down deliberately in places giving everybody time to take all the pictures they wanted. The devastation from fires various was still evident in many places but the snow plough showed they were ready for the winter, although I believe this was a vintage model!

So a repeat of yesterday really in that lunch followed breakfast but a little earlier than yesterday, as we were first sitting this time. This meant by the time we arrived we did feel like a little bit of dinner tonight. And those log lorries still went trundling by as you ate.

The Rockies kept on giving and the drink and snacks kept on coming. Somewhere along the line we crossed a time zone again and lost an hour; this country is just SO big.

The tunnels were quite exciting but the scenery will forever remain in our minds eye. Just captivating, just awesome, just unreal.

We trundled into Jasper, after one more drink 😱 and as predicted there were the suitcases.

Audley, of course, had played a blinder; our hotel was but five minutes wheeling the suitcases from the station, and there were all our vouchers already printed off by the nice man on reception at Park Place Inn. (He did say he was going to joke about asking us for our voucher; so obviously completely aware of our cock up!) Audley gave us an app link so we could download all our travel itinerary, so we now have it on our iPads. With such a trip, knowing that back up is there, even for your own glorious mistakes is so wonderful.

DSC02076And the room…….well! Lovely bed, a jacuzzi bath, the biggest shower I have ever seen and another first ………….. a stove in the bedroom! Just loving the props. Well it is going to get chilly. Sleep well, I know we will.

See you all tomorrow.
