Thursday……the first week has gone.

Last night’s meal was a triumph at the Rimrock Cafe. Mary had tuna, salmon and prawns and I had duck two ways. Did we like it? Booked back there for 7-30 pm on Friday night. I did manage to drop the room key in the restaurant, which meant a drive back there to collect it but luckily it was literally five minutes away. I hope the slightly camp waiter didn’t think it was his lucky night! πŸ˜‰

I woke this morning and cast my mind back a week; I was having afternoon tea in the B.A. lounge at Terminal 3 in Heathrow. We headed off for a walk round Nita Lake and looked back at the hotel; the morning was slowly warming up and had dawned clear and sunny.

The hotel looked great across the lake and folk were already mucking about on the water. We strolled back and Mary bravely got behind the wheel for the first time and we headed just down the road to Function Junction. There we had a very simple lunch, and no alcohol again! It is becoming a habit! One art gallery to gaze at, with some great pictures of bears and wolves.

Mary drove back and we just chilled with a beer (phew!) by the lake and gazed at a very cute dog.

Mary’s flower collection continues apace. The hotel restaurant is fully booked, the bistro next door is fully booked. Oh dear, back to the bar snack place, that we have kinda done to death, but hey it’s convenient.

Folk were still messing about on the river, and we saw the biggest pine cone in Whistler.

Tommorow another very relaxed day we hope.

Malcolm and Mary

Malcolm worked for LWT. Mary worked for TRL. They live near Camberley in Surrey and did achieve their life long ambition to visit New Zealand. They have two daughters Laura and Hannah and two grandchildren Zach & Safi. Having done the big trip they then went to Canada, which was amazing. Scroll down it’s all here. They have visited Venice that they both so fell in love with in 2009 again. And recently returned to Lefkada for one week in glorious sunshine. Where next? Well, Canada is calling again in 2019; this time including Alaska. So stay tuned if you enjoy the ups and downs of travelling.

  1. The time sure does fly by when you’re enjoying yourselves! You’ve already seen such lovely places and things. The hotel does look great across the lake. One day, Mary should do a little book of all her flower photos. Enjoy! x
