Tuesday off to the end of the island: it’s Vasiliki and beyond!

We travelled down to Cape Dukato which is the farthest southern tip of the island today. Last night we saw a new couple arrive back in their car, while we were eating, they purposefully strode to the lift and entered. We gave them four minutes. They had gone into the lift that goes down to the beach, they re emerged and walked off to the right lift to take them up to reception and the rooms. Maybe you had to be there but just such a funny incident.

We passed many way side shrines, some of the pick:

They are many and varied

Some grey and foreboding.

Some white and pristine.

I have always had the same fascination for way side shrines as I developed for New Zealand mail boxes.

We didn’t get back to the hotel till about five and headed straight for the poolside bar. The lovely staff were there. Tassos our dinner waiter and the lovely reception lady and the chef, names to be established.

Tomorrow may be another lazy day but we shall need staff, you always need staff!

The lovely, lovely staff. Tassos is on the left.

Thank you for reading. Please do comment, we are so, so lucky to be here. Take care M & M .

Malcolm and Mary

Malcolm worked for LWT. Mary worked for TRL. They live near Camberley in Surrey and did achieve their life long ambition to visit New Zealand. They have two daughters Laura and Hannah and two grandchildren Zach & Safi. Having done the big trip they then went to Canada, which was amazing. Scroll down it’s all here. They have visited Venice that they both so fell in love with in 2009 again. And recently returned to Lefkada for one week in glorious sunshine. Where next? Well, Canada is calling again in 2019; this time including Alaska. So stay tuned if you enjoy the ups and downs of travelling.

Thanks for the tip…Sylv LOVES the cats.. S&M Ooh that looks bad!

    1. Gee sounds amazing. Orcas no camera, isn’t it the way? Mary swore she saw a whales tail off the San Fransisco bridge. Everyone said she was talking rubbish, they never came up that far. News last week, well, well Whale is sighted by the San Fransisco bridge. Should have told the San Fran Times there and then but again so quick……..no picture. Keep smiling. M & M

  2. Lovely lovely place…but let’s face it, gaze at almost anything with an ouzo in your hand and your troubles disappear!

    1. Ha! Ha! How true, how true. The staff have all been wonderful, we thought they might be knackered and grumpy after a very long summer. They all seem to work Seven days a week. But they have been smiling and gracious throughout our stay. Thanks Jos xxxx
