Saturday slowly got better. 💦😄☀️☀️

So instead of saying “Kalimera” to the lovely smiling lady at breakfast I have reduced it simply to “Mera” meaning morning and left the “Kali” meaning good, out of it. She laughed but promised the day would improve. They told us that yesterday so we took it with a pinch of salt, two poached eggs and two tomatoes topped with Feta. The rain was so hard at around 7 this morning I didn’t need the alarm because it woke me up.

This floor is still wet!

It stopped raining, so we drove down to the church, that you can see as you pass by on the ferry to Meganisi. And guess what? Yep we saw the ferry.

Off to Meganisi.
Off to Meganisi.
The bell could be seen but the the church was closed.

As we climbed back up to the car it began to rain. But again luckily we got back before the main downpour. We headed to a bakery, bought a couple of ham baguettes and drove to Sivota to sit and watch the world go by. Such was the force and quantity of the rain, one boat in our local harbour had sunk and when we got to Sivota an awful lot of bailing out was going on. I could imagine the conversation…………….”You did put the boat cover on last night didn’t you?” “Well, er, um, er.” Stern look…………… The ducks looked incredibly happy and gathered round Mary to tell her what a wonderful night they all had had.

"What a fantastic night, Mary!"
“What a fantastic night, Mary!”
“Boy, you should have been here, what rain!”
“Anyone want to borrow my bucket?”

The rain stopped once more. We sat and had a drink then headed back to the hotel. At last the sun on the water again.

Tomorrow must be good!

Ah, the suns out, relax everybody!

One very full ashtray. No wonder the boats sank.

Baguettes, did somebody say baguettes?

So all looking promising for swimming and sunning tomorrow, the forecast is good.

Thanks for reading, take care M & M.
