Friday rain and thunder. 💦⚡️⚡️

Here we go another afternoon watching the rain come down. We did get to Vasiliki for lunch but boy timing again: we got back to the hotel seconds before the heavens opened.

Ah! Flowers in the sun. Remember the sun?
Ah! Flowers in the sun. Remember the sun?

Above is one of Mary’s from yesterday.  And not to be outdone one of mine of flowers and the sea.

Yes, sun on the water.
Yes, sun on the water.

The lunch in the pouring rain was at least under shelter!

My did it pour.
My did it pour.
The Whitebait was delicious and so fresh.

Whitebait? Did somebody say whitebait?
Whitebait? Did somebody say whitebait?
Saganaki, the whitebait, some Greek chips and even a plate of Beetroot.

We drove back in fairly light rain, walked from the car to the hotel in the dry but then once inside you could hardly see the mountains the other side of the bay.

Is that land or a mirage?

Well that table won't need washing, that's for sure.

The meal in the hotel last night was delicious and I swear I ate the best plate of home made Moussaka, I have ever tasted in all my visits to Greece over the years. I told the chef so and he was delighted. Oh yes, and fairly early this morning before it all went horribly wrong, we discovered how the whole hotel looks SO clean and smart all the time.

The secret cleaners go about keeping everywhere Spick and Span.

Tomorrow is allegedly going to be sunny and dry. Fingers crossed. May the Greek god of time ‘Kronos’, continue to look after us. Take care M & M

Malcolm and Mary

Malcolm worked for LWT. Mary worked for TRL. They live near Camberley in Surrey and did achieve their life long ambition to visit New Zealand. They have two daughters Laura and Hannah and two grandchildren Zach & Safi. Having done the big trip they then went to Canada, which was amazing. Scroll down it’s all here. They have visited Venice that they both so fell in love with in 2009 again. And recently returned to Lefkada for one week in glorious sunshine. Where next? Well, Canada is calling again in 2019; this time including Alaska. So stay tuned if you enjoy the ups and downs of travelling.

    1. Ha! Looking at those wonderful boat pictures of yours you may well ask. But it’s what I have always said………staff you do need staff. We are taking the restaurant waiter from here back home with us……he doesn’t know that yet!

  1. Ha! The little kitten we saw on Thursday nearly got put straight in the suitcase! Awake early because it’s pouring down again. The ashtray (When will the Greeks ever stop?) on the table on the balcony is almost full up! And it’s a pretty big ashtray. But its forecast to all stop at nine a.m. Gulp. 👍

  2. I have to say that I like the look/sound of Lefkada, think we need to put it on our list. You are taking some great photos. Shame about the rain but fingers crossed for tomorrow! You’re not thinking about adopting all those cats are you ……… poor Dillon!!
