Desimi beach, where we were two years ago.

The day looked grey but then brightened a little, so we headed for the beach we knew from two years ago. It was so local to where we had stayed we only looked at it on the last couple of days and of course the snorkelling had been the best on the island. Today was too rough to snorkel but good enough to sit and stare.

Mary found some more flowers.

News arrived from England that one of my entries into last nights YCC competition got me a score of 9.5 out of a possible 10. So very pleased with that for the start of the season and thanks to my chums back home for relaying the news.

I called it simply 'The valley' 9.5. Taken in Gruyere in Switzerland.

Highlight of the lunch was ordering what I thought was a bacon omelette and this turned up on the plate!

Yet another well patronised restaurant!

As Mary replied, when I said,"Bacon omlette!" She said, "Well all the ingredients are there."

Last night just just before the strange liqueur, Mary had ordered shrimps, which came up as the biggest prawns in the world. So at least the culinary delights of the island are giving us a few good laughs.

Prawns? Did somebody say prawns?

Oh yes and that lift to the beach does exist!

Going down.

Reflections.
Reflections.

We are eating at the hotel tonight, to hell with the expense. Also if it does rain again we are already home, as it were.

Travel safe, thank you for reading. Take care M & M.

Malcolm and Mary

Malcolm worked for LWT. Mary worked for TRL. They live near Camberley in Surrey and did achieve their life long ambition to visit New Zealand. They have two daughters Laura and Hannah and two grandchildren Zach & Safi. Having done the big trip they then went to Canada, which was amazing. Scroll down it’s all here. They have visited Venice that they both so fell in love with in 2009 again. And recently returned to Lefkada for one week in glorious sunshine. Where next? Well, Canada is calling again in 2019; this time including Alaska. So stay tuned if you enjoy the ups and downs of travelling.

  1. Fab photos Malcolm – especially The Valley and Reflections – both worthy of putting on a wall (and not just to throw things at either!). Both beautiful but in very different ways. Glad you’re having a good time despite the variable weather; ours is too but I bet yours is warmer!

    Have fun . . M&T
