Breakfast and away to the town to get on the TSS Earnslaw for a trip round the lake. Stopping on the way to buy a replacement lens cap for Mary’s camera, the original lost no doubt in a deep flower bed somewhere. Low and behold on board was a pianist just as Mike Hull had foretold: it will be interesting to know if it’s the same pianist he saw all those years ago. Looking at her settled appearance on the old piano, I suspect it was!
There were some superb faces around: even better than spending a morning people watching at the arrivals hall of Heathrow Terminal 5.
An excellent lunch back on shore and then off to the cable car. Malcolm’s torn cartlidge finally beginning to get the better of him. But it has stood up very well to so many weeks of punishment.
Very impressive day. We can’t quite think what Blackwater is going to look like after all this open space. “Contained” is probably as good a word as any. So as we head for the Italian restaurant in town called Sasso, we thank you again for reading and the Odyssey continues.
