Wellington bright idea

So we are on board a ferry for three hours. The ferry has Wi-fi, whoopee! What a fiendish plan to while away the time and do last nights blog. The ferry is rammed and Malcolm makes his way to the on board shop and for $4 New Zealand He buys the wi-fi code. £2 to you mrs. He returns to his seat, he connects to the wi-fi, he finds the wordpress page and then stops. Why? Because all the ‘ology he needs to download yesterday’s pictures onto his iPad (loads of leads and adapters) are safely locked in the suitcases and stowed on board somewhere. They take your luggage off you, just like an airport. So dear chums I guess you will have to wait till later for yesterday’s news. Sorry.

So as we sail towards the South Island, I can tell you the Black Caps, New Zealand’s cricket team were staying in our hotel. One of them asked Mary for some cutlery off our table at breakfast……..swoon! We had a good old natter with Keith (ex LWT workmate and raconteur) about life, art the universe and everything. He kindly showed us various sights we would never have seen, as we dropped the hire car off upon our arrival in Wellington on Wednesday but you already knew that. Then we ventured forth for a Thai meal and he very kindly drove back into Wellington and dropped us off right outside our hotel. Well above and beyond the call of duty but it is some 35 years since he last saw Mary. 35 years, dear me, just unbelievable.

I am trying to upload two pictures already on the iPad but failing miserably. So I am going to call it quits and try again this evening assuming there is a wi-fi connection!

Thanks for reading. M & M

Malcolm and Mary

Malcolm worked for LWT. Mary worked for TRL. They live near Camberley in Surrey and did achieve their life long ambition to visit New Zealand. They have two daughters Laura and Hannah and two grandchildren Zach & Safi. Having done the big trip they then went to Canada, which was amazing. Scroll down it’s all here. They have visited Venice that they both so fell in love with in 2009 again. And recently returned to Lefkada for one week in glorious sunshine. Where next? Well, Canada is calling again in 2019; this time including Alaska. So stay tuned if you enjoy the ups and downs of travelling.
