All getting a bit close!

The day has passed quickly. Our foreign currency is now acquired, everyone in the bank wishing me a great time. We printed off Australian entry visas. American entry permission stuff (a technical word you may see quite often!) and Alcatraz e-tickets, we collect the genuine tickets at pier 33 on Tuesday 3rd of February. We had to enter the date we were going on the trip on a form on the computer and I put 03/02/2015 and it was immediately rejected. So I entered 02/03/2015 and of course being an American website it was then quite happy with the date. So bless it has started to be a struggle already. I guess we will get used to the American way……….eventually.

Will this all fit in two suitcases? Of course it will.

We will let you know how the preparation things are progressing later next week. But poor Dillon (our 15-year-old cat) has yet to realise he is off to the cattery a week on Saturday for a rather extended stay.

Malcolm and Mary

Malcolm worked for LWT. Mary worked for TRL. They live near Camberley in Surrey and did achieve their life long ambition to visit New Zealand. They have two daughters Laura and Hannah and two grandchildren Zach & Safi. Having done the big trip they then went to Canada, which was amazing. Scroll down it’s all here. They have visited Venice that they both so fell in love with in 2009 again. And recently returned to Lefkada for one week in glorious sunshine. Where next? Well, Canada is calling again in 2019; this time including Alaska. So stay tuned if you enjoy the ups and downs of travelling.

    1. Thanks guys, it did come up as “Anonymous” but we kinda guessed it was you!
Still shows the system works and works pretty well! Enjoy viewing I hope, and don’t feel obliged to comment every day………’s too short. We know you are out there. M & M

  1. Bit of a long stay in the cattery for poor Dillon. At least £10 a day………… the maths! No, it is going really well. We will try a few more sort of test pages but looking good! Thanks again. Lots of friends are very interested.

  2. Pleased to see things are progressing. You’ll soon get used to the American ‘way’ of things! Elevator for lift, sidewalk for pavement, pavement for road, movies for films etc. As for those two suitcases, of course it will all fit in, with plenty of room for all those souvenirs you’ll be collecting along the way! Poor Dillon, but he looks as though he can take of himself.

    1. Just 4 days to go (NZ time)..And before yo know it you’ll know all the Americanisms for road etc and will have to learn the NZ ones..Like jandals, and hokey pokey and Kia Ora (not orange juice) and take no notice of the white line in the middle of the road…’cos we don’t!!! Have a great trip! MG and S
